8:30-9:00 – Opening Session – Teacher role perceptions
Mary Runnells, Paula Dawson, and Jennifer Tingley will facilitate an activity that helps to identify special education and general education teacher role perceptions in inclusive environments as well as to differentiate between key terms.
9:05 – 9:50 Session 1 - Collaboration – Two high school teams will discuss collaborative models they have developed based on the needs of students in their classroom.
9:05-9:25 Kristy Holland and Cher Gingues will describe a collaborative effort with community partners that has resulted in better preparing students for transitioning to the workplace.
9:30-9:50 Jason Hamill, Christina Mahoney, and Austen Winkler will describe how they worked together to develop a program of instruction addressing conflict management in the workplace.
9:55 – 10:40 Session 2 - Coteaching – Two middle school teams will describe their co-teaching models, the impact of their model on students, and on themselves as practitioners.

10:45-11:30 Session 3 - Direct and Explicit Instruction / Specially Designed Instruction – (Two Sessions – one for GETs and one for SETs)
One session for GE teachers (45 minutes) – Cynthia Souidan and Jim Miller will describe how they work together to create a fluid system of supports – e.g. what direct and explicit instruction must occur within Tier 1 and 2 and how Special Education specialists develop deeper understanding with students with disabilities.
